JOURNALING JUNKIE CHALLENGE#48

I always take time to visit Journaling Junkie. I try to keep my journaling short for most of my LOs, so it’s a challenge for me to write a longer one.

For January, their first challenge is to create a LO on the New Year. It can be about your New Year’s resolutions, or New Year’s celebration or a review of 2008. I chose to create a LO of my resolution for 2009:

Journaling: Bed time, New Year’s eve. With a bare face and a camera on my hand, I bravely took this shot. Quite fitting, I should say, to a promise in the days to come….

I resolve to be always true to myself – need not pretend, need not hold back… will dare to bare my soul in everything I do.

Materials used: DCWV Cardstock, K & Co Papers, KI lace paper, MM brown ledger, blings, ribbons, HS She alphabet chipboards, MR swirl chipboard, acrylic paints, Crackle Accents, MM journal paper.

The truth is, this is the rehashed LO. The first one I created didn’t work for me (I used 2 identical black and white small pictures instead of one). I was trying to do a “minimalist approach” to fit the LO - - but it ended up too simple to my liking (destroyed it and saved the elements used). I still tried to keep the rehashed LO simple though (with embellishments to a minimum). I guess I really have a penchant for throwing a lot of embellies on my LO because this LO makes me feel… bare (LOL!!!!).

Have fun.

I loooove this layout for the journaling AND your bravery in putting your bare face forward. And heck, if being true to yourself (in this layout, for instance) means changing up the minimalism and layering the embellies, by all means go ahead!
