I recently joined Scrap That's forum (my good friend LG invited me over). Fathers' day is around the corner and it's very timely that their challenge for Week 2 requires you to create a layout involving Dad.
Here's my take:Journaling:
You lift me up Dad. Rain or shine, you are there to make me laugh and feel loved. I am truly blessed to have you as my father!
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill, Papers: Sassafrass Lass, GCD, Flower: Prima, Ink: Colorbox, Stickers: JB, Adorn It, Brads: Colorbox, Baubles: K&Co., Pens: Sakura, Others: Thread, chalk, craft foam.
Are those fibers I see? LOL.
Okay, okay, so I did attempt to crochet... after 20 years. I was telling myself, "hey, I used to do this when I was in Grade 6... should be easy..." Did not bother to google to refresh my memory - - hence it kinda looked different than what I have in mind. LOL. Good thing it still looked funky and blended with the overall feel of the layout, don't you think? ;o)
Inserted a handmade flower, lifted the JB stickers using craft foam to add dimension, folded and cross stitched the Sassafrass edge paper...
Doodled with Sakura pens (raindrops and outline of the clouds) then played with chalk (I think I used about 3 shades of blue to achieve that effect - - love my new chalks!!!).
Whew! It took time for me to create this layout (primarily because I tried to figure out crocheting on my own LOL) - - but I'm just soo happy I found the time to do this.
Thanks for looking. Do checkout ScrapThat's forum here and the store here. See you there!
