HEARTBROKEN in BKK… NOT

When I told some scrappin’ friends that I would be visiting Bangkok, they all had one request: UHU glue (with the pink cap, thank you). With this in my mind, I scoured every store that looks likely to carry kao ( pronounced as kaw - - imagine me asking the salesladies with matching hand gestures LOL).

Nope, no kao, no pink UHU. Not even prima, ribbons, buttons, nada. The only scrap related item that I was able to buy was a bunch of twigs (costs THB3 each or about PHP4 at Chatuchak Market) that I want to use as accents for my boxes.

Since I would be traveling with hubby (and I know him too well), I anticipated that there would be times that he’d be oversleeping. Good thing I packed these along with me to keep the mojo up:

See, I have this foldable bag that I got from SM Department Store (free for every Php1,000 purchase of kids’ stuff). It would have been okay, except that the print is blue (why on earth did they choose that print color over black and red???).

Here’s its front side:

Here’s the back side:

So, over at the hotel, while dear hubby slept, I made matching embellies to cover the bag’s print. I sewed everything to the felt cloth. The big black and white flowers are actually Sizzix diecuts which outlines I blanket-stitched. When I got back after the trip, I went to National Bookstore to buy Bostik Sew No More glue (costs Php180) to adhere the felt cloth to the bag.

Here’s the altered front side:

Very happy with the result (by now, I think you already know that black-red-white (in that order) are my favorite colors!!!). This altered bag project saved my BKK trip. ;o)
