AAM Challenge #10: The Soundtrack of Your Life is already up!
Honestly, I could not think of any song that screams "This is my life!" (I am attributing this to the fact that I am seriously musically challenged. LOL.) True, there are a few songs that I thought of for this challenge - - All of my Life (I wanted to use this as my bridal march song, but my church didn't allow me to), Ikaw (my lullabye song to Nat and Phil), a Beatle song which my hubby sang for me during our wedding reception (LOL, good thing my hubby's too busy to read my blog, sshhhh, don't tell him I forgot which song he sang for me!!!!) Last minute, I chose this one - - the only song which lyrics I know by heart.
Journaling: I remember my dad singing this to me when I was a little girl. It may be meaningless when put into context, but to me, it's the sweetest heart's song there is. Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Paper: Sassafrass Lass, Chipboards: Fancy Pants, Flower and pebble: Prima Marketing, Buttons: BasicGrey, Bingo card: Jenni Bowlin Studio, Ephemera card: 7Gypsies, Stamps: My Little Yellow Bicycle, Stickers: Bella Blvd, 7Gypsies, Journaling spot: Jillibean Soup, Paints: Pebeo, Making Memories, Ink: Tsukineko, Clearsnap, Ranger, Chipboard alphabet and felt flower: American Crafts, Rub-on: Scenic Route, Liquid Pearls: Ranger, Brad: K & Company, Pen: Uni-ball, Other: Ribbon, Cuttlebug Die (Cat).
I wrote the song in the music paper - - and if I translate the song in English, it will go something like this: Janis caught a mouse / the mouse looks pitiful / Meow, meow, meow Janis said/ I will not forgive you! Too bad I never asked my dad how he came up with that song!
Settled for a non-photo layout - - I realized I don't have baby pics of me with my dad, even pics of me when I was a baby (note to self: ask Ate Jaden if she was able to keep our family pictures). To make up for it, I used my Cat Cuttlebug die for the cat and mouse diecuts (yup, after almost two years of keeping it, it's only now that I was able to use it on my layout!!!) I used my Ranger Distress Inks to color the die cuts.
You can see the rest of the DT's layouts here. Hope you can play along with us!!!
Thanks for looking.

oh wow, Janis, this is such a beautiful LO. you always out do yourself with the prompts!
This is a fantastic interpretation of the challenge Janis! What's more special than a song your dad used to sing to you? And you finally got to use your diecut. That's a result! x
This is just an adorable layout...all the elements work so well together and the meaning behind the song is so heartfelt! Wonderful take on the challenge.
such a cute and precious layout :)
Love the fun and cheerful colours!
