AN ALL-CONSUMING PASSION

AAM#4: Turning Point in Your Life is up!!! I have a confession to make - - there are so many turning points in my life (going through my dad's death due to lung cancer when I was in college, graduating cum laude in college, placing 9th on the national CPA licensure examination, being a breadwinner when I started working, marrying my hubby, being a first-time mother, going through my mom's death due to lung cancer (again!), being a second-time mother) that I wanted to document so that my kids can read about them when they're much older. I went through the photos that I have, saw this one and realized that I have another turning point.

For my take, I used Scrapsketch's exclusive sketch for AAM this October...

and made this:

Journaling: Life never was the same when I started scrapping in April 2008. I'm a number person - - I have Economics and Accounting as my backgrounds - - so I myself was kinda surprised by my artistic/creative side. Scrapbooking allowed me to celebrate memories I hold most dear and document and share life's lessons. It is a turning point for me and now definitely an all-consuming passion.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Paper: Crate Paper, Sticker: Reminisce, Chipboards: Fancy Pants, Conchos: All About Scrapbooking, Crystals: Prima Marketing, Buttons: BasicGrey, Brads: Making Memories, Pens: Uni-ball, Tombow, Ink: Clearsnap, Other: Thread, blings, old paper from an organizer.

The patterned papers I used here were given my darling sister Jaden (thanks sis!!!) who got them during the Scrapjam last October 10 (missed it as I was away on a trip with my gfs). I cut-out the patterns and layered them...

and jazzed them up a bit with conchos, brads and blings.

Figured the chipboards should be blinged too...

P.S. The color palette, title placements, and layout borders were inspired by Dotty Diva's Challenge 3 Ad. ;o)

Janis, your creativity was evident to me the first time I visited All About Me blog. Plus, you're a photographer? Great photos BTW. I was so inspired by your LO; the colors you chose, the flowers you made - you really add the right pieces to your designs. Thank you for the kind words you left on my blog - made my day!
