COORDINATES COLLECTIONS' MAY SODA POP KIT

This May, I was blessed with the opportunity to be the guest design team member at Coordinates Collections. While there are two kits for May, I was given the chance to work with their Soda Pop Kit - - a challenge for me really for purple is the last color that I'll use on my layouts.

I was able to receive the kit only Friday afternoon - - the day that the DT members are supposed to reveal their creations for May- - so I had to rush. What's amazing is, while I'm purple challenged, creating the pages was a breeze - - this kit totally conquered my fear of purple!!!

Here are my pages created out of the basic Soda Pop Kit:

Journaling: We are sisters in crime, in scrap, in life.

Paper cutting skills showcased - - i promise you cannot resist cutting these MYLB's flower designs!

A close-up of the paper cut-outs. I filled the lower portion of my cutouts with green watercolor pencil just to break the white color and match the color of my title.

Journaling: Gonna take fitness & health to the next level!

Played with paper layering on this one.

Journaling: We have found our diamond castle, Liana, and it's not a huge palace at the end of the rainbow. The castle is our friendship -- I'm so glad we're bestfriends today, tomorrow and always.

(Yup, my daughter is a Barbie fanatic -- she calls me Alexa from the Barbie and the Diamond Castle movie. Must have watched it more than 10 times with her. LOL.)

Made the cloth tag/embellishment in my kit as the title. All items from the basic soda pop kit except for the dymo tape and the white cardstock that I made as background for the owl transparencies. Aren't they hootiful? ;o)

I made this card out of the scraps of my Sisters, Gotta Run and Best of Friends layouts. The card turned out itty (it measures 5.25"x4.75") but I was just mighty happy I was able maximize all my cardstocks in my basic soda pop kit.

Journaling reads: There's always a mischievous twinkle in your eyes that gives away your free spirit.

I know I can relax by submitting only the required 3 projects, but I felt I have to showcase that the soda pop kit can also be used in a masculine page (plus this was the last cardstock in the kit, might as well use it). Moreover, I haven't used the bigger buttons (looovvee all of it - - they're just too many!!!) so this layout, simple as it is, officially declares my kit history (well, okay, not quite, coz' there are still scraps, buttons, ribbon and jillibean tags left!!!)

These explain why I wasn't able to join the crops at the other forums - - I had my own marathon crop!!! I am totally happy with the pages I have created out of my kit - - and if you're interested in getting one for yourself, just head over to Coordinates Collections.

See you there!!!
